Well, traced it back to the combination headlight relay. It's a two part relay. Pulled it apart and lots of black bunred traces on the board a several fried diodes. None of the boneyards in town have any 928's. Guess I'm headed down there to see if 944 has the same realy?

What model year 928?
Go check out the Fuse/Relay charts at www.928gt.com - they have them for all model years, and with the part number you can find out whether its in a 944 or whatever, as well as price shop. Used ones are $60ish for 80-86 model years.

Cool, will do. think I'd rather have a new one. For now I rigged mine so that when I plug the relay in... The lights go on. I just couldn't help myself.
