5 spd Jubilee on CL Chicago for $5k
Seller has it listed as an 82 Euro S, but its a Jubilee. I emailed Roger, but its a 5 spd, so passing the info on here. Previous Calif registration (was in TX in between) should make it possible to register in Calif again without too much smog trouble, but that is pure speculation on my part.
Jubilee is the Euro special like the Weissach, but its a Euro S, and no idea about badges, but burgundy in and out or something that looks that way. Head rest has some Porsche signature, seat faces are a pin stripe cloth. This one looks a little rough, not worth $5k IMHO, but with some TLC (truck load of cash) could be a nice little car again. Seller says no rust, but for a 928 it has a LOT of corrosion, so PPI essential as usual. http://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/cto/1192586018.html |

Ewww, your right. $5K and it's really rough. If your going to ask that much, wouldn't you at least wash the damn thing?

Plenty on both sides of the pro/con scale, what the seller would actually take for it might not even be as important as what the buyers resources are for fixing it up. My guess is that it could suck up $10k of TLC in the first visit to a good mechanic. OTOH they aren't a common 928 to find in the USA, and after a time even Burgundy starts looking good compared to black and red over and over again.

Once you go Burgundy you start looking for shirts with ruffles.

Danglerb: "Once you go Burgundy you start looking for shirts with ruffles. " HAHAHAHA perfect... I've resisted the urge to even go look at this car, it has come up over and over again for some time and I live very nearby. I would trade off an S4 for a twin dizzy euro 5spd, not so much a Jubilee.

No rust? Yeah right. You can see rust in the photo's. The rear spoiler has so much rust under it that it has crept out from under the spoiler. I just took the spoiler off a car that looked flawless and it still had rust under the spoiler. The underside of the car is also very rusty.
What a shame.

All true, but that may make it easy to show the seller its a project and something like $2k cash is a fair offer.
The prerequisite is that this is a car that somebody needs to really want to be worth the effort of fixing it. If it isn't exactly what you want, there are many cheaper and better choices. |
