My first wife was kinda like that. I really don't miss her.

My wife goes WITH me and my son (6 years old) to Hooters. They have awesome food there, IMO.

I could totally say that. "The Food is why I go to Hooters, but the Grin always gives me away."

WTH how come I never met you guys in SD? Except Brandon. You're like the only one that knows where I used to live. :D

rich 06-09-2009 05:44 PM

I voted for ya! Although aafter all the abuse do you want to go back there?

44 no votes seems like its still kind of ugly there, but I've never had a problem ignoring negativity. As it is now all images or other files hosted on rennlist are blocked, and that makes many helpful threads impossible to follow. I'd like to be able to read some of those threads with some chance of understanding them.

MPDano 06-10-2009 06:40 AM

I thought I would check in and see what was being said over there on the other forum. Looks like "Grinch" is asking for a 75% approval rating on the Poll. Such bonehead rules they throw around over there. Anyways, I know your just looking for picture viewing, but sheeesh.

Danglerb 06-10-2009 12:42 PM

Someone on rennlist asked that I make a statement to help the newer people that joined rennlist after I left, so here goes, anybody that wants to and can feel free to repost it.

I don't think any owner or enthusiast should be permanently denied access to the information stored on rennlist.

That 45 people are voting no, is disappointing. I think it reflects poorly on them to be so petty after more than a year. If that is not how you feel rennlist should be or be represented, vote against them.

Barbapapa 06-10-2009 01:03 PM

I just logged in for the first time in a year or two to vote yes. It's a movement!

You're right that an enthusiest shouldn't be denied access out of shear negativity but that's the spirit of RL brought to you by its founder and it's trickled down and become the atmosphere. Ugh. Don't take it personally.

I need to go find some pictures of soft, fuzzy kittens to make up for having just spent my time there.:)

rjm65 06-10-2009 01:34 PM

I'm just sad CAShark isn't around to vote once or twice for ya!

Danglerb 06-10-2009 04:36 PM

Fuzzy kitten picture coming up ....

If this doesn't warm your heart, don't know what will ..

Hell Yea!!!! Better to face your adversaries. :D

I have no doubt if the poll was public, there would be less than 5 "no" votes.

Don't worry about the numbers. Things were pretty whack when you left. I actually think it is pretty impressive that so many people are speaking up for you. ;)

I don't really care what the others think, as long as they conduct themselves like adults. As everyone should.

SharkSkin 06-11-2009 04:48 PM

Mike, I know I have been short with you in the past, the how when or why isn't important but I do regret having been less than civil at times. After all, we are all enthusiasts, we all love the same car, and we should have more patience with one another's idiosyncrasies -- we all have them. Even though there were some http://members.rennlist.com/sharkski...-BangHead1.gif moments there I always felt like your heart was in the right place. You wanted a 928 and you wanted to make it "yours".

I for one am glad you came along, I find that these days I am much more patient when newbies come along and ask crazy questions. :D I am not sure if you intentionally stirred the pot at times, but stir it you did. :p Everyone deserves a second chance -- sometimes that second chance isn't wanted -- but I voted for you to have one nonetheless.

Even if you decide not to ever post there again, I hope the ban is lifted so you can make the choice yourself to post or not.

Mike, there seems to be some questions by the current mods regarding why you were banned. Bob Roleu asked that you email him and explain what happened. Can you do that without being a member or user?

Danglerb 06-11-2009 10:42 PM

PM me his email and I can send him an email directly.

I was never told why I was banned, and I don't think I ever violated any of the terms of service. All of the pm's between RandyV and myself at the time were about how, not if I would continue, changing the account name etc.

The "danglerb." stuff popped up, and a moderator should have known from the IP who was doing it, but instead "danglerb." was allowed to post anonymously for about a week. My impression is that a number of older members who didn't understand IP addresses blamed me and complained directly to JohnD.

When some of the "danglerb." posts were finally deleted, so were some of mine, and I was informed that all of my posts were now to be monitored and edited or deleted at RandyV's discretion. That led to an especially nasty thread of abusive personal attacks directed at me, that was allowed to run its course without restriction.

I decided if I was going to get second class treatment being a member instead of a user was meaningless, and I asked for a refund of my membership fees. 15 minutes later I was banned.

Fabio421 06-12-2009 05:08 AM

Someone made a video for you. Listen closely. :D
