Just ONE more 928 .... Plz ;)

The market is so tempting right now with 928's I'm having a hard time resisting just one more 928. Garage is full, wife says no, but doesn't start cleaning the shotgun, no warnings from the condo association this month.

Once I have the last parts off my donor car and it goes to scrap, pretty sure I could part another one without too much trouble, maybe hide it at Devilinblack's back yard, but I'm getting tempted by a nice car that is going to want to live in a garage. So far the advice, tell her its cheaper than a mistress, isn't working, any better ideas?

I agree on the 928 market being extremely tempting at this time as they have to be one of the best exotic "bangs for the buck" around and a lot of unique cars have been coming to market lately.

I currently have 8 cars at this time and it appears my wife wouldn't care if I had 20 cars around which I attribute to letting her drive them to work and taking her girlfriends out in them once in a while as well as keeping our finances separate (i.e. this prevents my wife from knowing what I spend on my cars and she can't say I am spending "her" money). I also find that giving my wife flowers on a regular basis seems to redeem me for the amount of time I spend in the garage (i.e. a small investment with big returns).

oh come on now, have some decency.... just ask her how much she wants for it and if its a ridiculous price, then start coming up with excuses to bring her down on her price. the last thing you want is to be known as a dirty low-balling bastard. although i shouldn't be talking because i am in the middle of buying an ORIGINAL 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350-H fastback for $9000 cause they got a divorce and the woman ended up with the car and apparently doesn't know what it is. she advertised it as a plain-Jane '65 stang not a Shelby. big profit for me$$$$$$$$$$$$!!! i even ran the VIN number and it all checked out... its only got 7000 miles and was restored a year ago....

thats cause that gift sucks any day of the yr. . you know the saying people in a poor country would give an arm and a leg for the food on your plate , now eat. who'd pass on a porsche. did you spoil her with all those lavish gifts you get her.

you got a rough tough when there , lets us know if she gives in dodge any bullets or those flowers might be for you.

Danglerb,

So you are looking at a "nice" 928 for around $3000.00?
I must shop in all the wrong places.

The insanity of the current market has nice 928's at $5000 and $35000, just different features and model years. The 928 I am thinking about is a 16v automatic, which knocks the price a fair amount, but its under 100k miles, garage kept, two owner in nice original condition. $3500 is what I am aiming for, but money isn't the drawback.

Wife would kill me.

No garage to park it in.

Sounds like a deal you can't say no to. Maybe rent a storage unit for a while, until you make some garage space, and she sees what a great car it is for the money.

I have a 10x35 $289/mo habit already. (wow is it ever not good for me to think of that as room for 2x 928).

Truth is I don't have a clue if I would really be happy with an AT 928, but I am very tempted. Not my first temptation, and time may decide it anyway, no way I can act before a week or two from now so it may sell to somebody else.

The auto easily breaks the tires, not that I even meant to.

Hmmm, deduct $500 for bad tires ...

I don't think I am an S4 kinda guy. I have a fair amount of spares and knowledge on the 16v cars, so I plan to stick with them.

haha..... to tell you the truth the s4 feels a little too (advanced?) You really don't feel "attached" to the car...
