Explain Your Screen Name!!!

What does your screen name mean???

I guess I'll start-

BB79, My first two initials and my birth year, as well the year as one of my 928's.
I've always wonder what the heck DanglerB was supposed to mean....hmmmm.

MPDano 06-24-2009 02:12 PM

Then WTF is 500?

MPDano 06-24-2009 02:13 PM

MPDano

Military Police and my last name Dano

Been using this username for 16 years now.

BB500 06-24-2009 02:16 PM

HAHAHAHA!! I forgot, I also left this post on Rlist...

BB500 is my first two initials and 500 just sounds powerful to me. I also had a Galaxie 500:)

BB500 06-24-2009 02:24 PM

Dano, I got a ticket as I left your house last week! Right there at the Chevron station, I accidentally went left thinking there wasn't a center divide....:( also got me for no proof of insurance, but I was repo'ing the car from the guy I sold it to. Technically the car is still registered to him, I'm just the lienholder. Hopefully that flies in court...

MPDano 06-24-2009 02:28 PM

Yeah, lots of coppers in my area. CHP is right there off Greenfield and Main. They always run my plates, but they have no probable cause to pull me over. I'm not sure how that all works as far as Repo'ing a car. So the dude lived near me?

Well, I will go next.

I am a Senior Systems Analyst for a Defense Contractor, D.O.D. Started as a PC LAN Tech, and always considered myself a true wrencher/technician with anything I get my hands on, anything I Can do to learn the how to's for anything, especially my toys. I DO NOT take my stuff to the "shop", insist on learning to do it hands on, at all times. My first Porsche was a 944, and that began the Tech944, figured I would just stick with it beings that is where it all started. I use TechSLX over on my Waverunner/Jet Skii forums, hence me having a Polaris SLX 780, etc, etc...

What's up Leo?!?!? Hope all is well my friend...

My turn: Some time back, I read an article that was about porn stars. One of the performers interviewed was asked where he got his screen name and he said that it was common practice to use the name of your first pet as your first name, and the last name would be the name of the street that you grew up on;) Hence, my first dog "Sparky" and the street that I grew up on is "Rowan"SmileWavy Oh well, I thought it was kind of cool:cool:

american-kiwi 06-24-2009 04:06 PM

That's my name, don't wear it out. I prefer Rick but I've been called all kinds of things like Dick, as in "YOU DICK!" Hey I can't help it if my dad named my right...

Danglerb 06-24-2009 08:42 PM

People have trouble with Dan Glerb, I have to wonder about Whiskers Tweedy.

Normy 06-24-2009 11:00 PM

The name that my "wonderful" parents saddled me with. My dad's fault actually.

-Prior to my birth, my parents agreed that if I was male, I was to be named Michael James. My birth wasn't the easiest process in the world; I nearly died and my mother had bleeding. While she was unconscious, my dad was presented the birth certificate. Me made me a "jr" by putting his own name on the birth certificate. I spent two weeks in the hospital, and my mom to this day makes great sport of pointing out that she still wasn't talking to him when they brought me home. She actually talked to an attorney about a divorce, but never followed up.

Since the paperwork had already gone through, they left it as is. Mom got a full house of her favorite Ethan Allen furniture two years later~

THINK when you name your kids; I caught soooo! much crap in school because of this stupid name! I don't know what my grandmother was thinking when she gave it to my dad.

M!

MPDano 06-25-2009 04:21 AM

Dang Normy, that's a sad story. Glad all worked out though.

Blythe, I bought new windshield wipers for my 928 and the local parts store carried Bosch and the replacements were "BB500." I thought that was where you got your screen name.

bedinator 06-25-2009 06:50 AM

okay, here goes. In 2001-2002 I worked for a company that had a naming standard of first initial+last name for logins. So, I was Bedman. I'm a big guy and someone merged Bedman with Terminator and came up with Bedinator. It stuck.

EIPtuningR32 06-25-2009 08:21 AM

here's mine: as a lot of you guys know, i own a 2004 VW R32.... or a "girly car" as some call it. :) there is a tuning company that went out of business do to screwing there customers over. stuff like, blowing customer's motors on a dyno and building the motor back up with spare parts around their shop and giving it back to the customer without telling them and when the motor blows up again, they blame it on the customer. yeah i know, good stuff. they were called EIPtuning. despite the way they treated people and there stuff, the ABSOLUTELY made the best performance parts for the R32, despite what everyone says. they cruel treating of customers didnt show in there parts. i became a BIIIIIGGG fan of EIP WAYYY before they fell to the dark side. so ever since then i have named all of my accounts EIPtuningR32. because, well, i wish i had a EIP-tuned-R32. instead i have a (almost) stocker....

here is there stage 4 turbo... 580 HP (and yes that is spinning all four tires...AWDFTW): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZgzYJLtnXg
