bought a 82 928

yes i did buy this one...this time i paid for it..lol...pick it up sunday or monday...its a 1982 928 with 5spd..exterior is nice..original red paint..but getting a little thin in places..kinda like my hair..lol....only thing bad on the exterior is the front spoiler is broken off (gone)...the owner was on the P'list but i didnt ask his login name..he was on here asking about the bellhousing...A kid drove it before he got it..dropped/hit the clutch too hard..snapped the ball stud off...so now i have a bellhousing replacement job coming up.....interior is a little messed up...seats were recovered but not in leather...some type of black cloth...doesnt look too bad...but the kid got carried away with the rattle cans on the interior panels...im going to try and remove it (spray paint)..see if i can save anything..paid $600 for it..i see $600 in the car all day long..it even came with the WSM's in paper form and CD

When you replace the ballstud on the bellhousing (is possible to replace without pulling bellhousing depending on where it broke), you will need to upgrade to the later stud and release arm. This does mean removing the pressure plate.

american-kiwi,
Glad to hear you found another 928 but, hope you didnt let the Cashmere go for what the auction ended at? From what I had seen from the pic's here that was in NICE shape!
I know how it goes though, I have had three in the last ten years . Wish I would have found these forums years ago! Keep us posted w/ pic's.

it did sell ...to a german bidder.!....i have a feeling it isnt going to go through ..but he does have good feedback with 370 at 100%...a no go is fine by me..as i think i sold my 64 mercury also...so the porsche can stay home..just means i have to argue with "ebay" on the sellers fee's...with a non paying bidder

i'll throw the starter motor back in it and see what happens (he started to remove stuff for the bellhousing)...it looks very clean and original under the hood...not mess with at all
