Potential trade for 928. I need your advice.

I have been contemplating this for a while now so I figured I would ask the experts.

I am looking for a 92-94 GTS. The car needs to be in good shape and well maintained. I am not concerned about mileage as long as it's been taken care of. Also, I am looking for any color other than red and it has to be a manual.

I currently own an 87-930 and have done a full restoration on the entire car over the last 2 years. It has a 2,000 mile motor from a recent rebuild and is top notch. The original paint with cold A/C and much more. If I were to list what has been done it would take 5 pages to write everything out. if you know of anyone who would like to get into a fully restored 930 that they could literally drive for at least the the next 50k with only valve adjustments every 10-15k (and of course a regular oil change) then let me know.

I have attached a few pics for you guys. Remember, if it could be rebuilt or replaced it has been done.

Oh baby, what I would do to get my hands on a Supercharged 32V. That is a nice one for sure.

Although, the Original Poster is looking for a Manual Tranny. This white one is an Auto.

How many non red manual transmission GTS's come up for sale each year?

Reducing that number to those who want a 930 doesn't sound like the best plan for finding a 928.

Sell the one you don't want, buy the one you do want.

Of course, I realize that I could sell, but I am not that motivated to. If this were to work out somehow then great, otherwise I will keep the car and drive that for a very long time. Just looking at all my options.

Nah, Pelican has hosting issues or some other network related problem. Been that way since I joined up a couple years back. You kinda learn to just be patient and click till it takes or click the 928 forum from the beginning and repost, making sure it didn't hiccup and already post.

I have to agree. It took me over a year to find mine but my list was a bit more extensive. Had to be a rare metallic paint. I will say that although I have a lot of 911 owner friends that like the 928 finding one interested in trading a GTS for a 930 will be harder than if you just opened it up to any GTS.

Based on your description you have a 1 in 159 (sorry make that 158 mines not for sale

) in finding the car you want. Of those owners i am sure only a few appreciate the 930 as much as the 928 like myself. So even if you split the number in half there are maybe 80 cars that might have owners that would entertain the thought of trading and most of the owners I know aren't willing to part with theirs.

If I were you, focus on finding the right GTS it might take considerably longer than you might think. Worry about selling the 930 later, I have seen your posts of the car before and she is a beauty you shouldn't have a problem finding a buyer for it.
