although, now that i think about it, that seepage may just be water. it rained yesterday and everything was a little bit wet here and there. i havnt drove the car in a few days so i dont know why it would be leeking now. however, i will investigate further before i come to a definate conclusion.

i have another question. i was just reading a different thread and this made me come up with the question. what is the purpose of 2 fans? and im not sure if my electronic fan is working right becaus i have never seen it turn on before. if there may be a part that needs replaced or whatever, now is my time to do it while im replacing everything else.

Car info in profile and/or sig plz.
Aux fan in front comes on when temp sensor in radiator says too hot, and it should run all the time the AC is running. |
ok, well that makes sense then because the ac doesnt work yet so its never on, thats why ive never seen it running.

ok, got a question... the 3 mounts that support the throttle body... im having some trouble removing them. i tried som vice grips, they didnt work. i tightened it as tight as i could and it just slipped. then i got a dremel and cut a slot across the top. ands tried a screw driver, nedless to say it was still stuck. i cut anoter little chip off the edge so i can place a screwdriver and hit it with a hammer and it would have a good angle to spin the mount out. i hit it with a 5 lb hammer pretty hard and couldnt do it. so my last i dea, i havnt tried yet, is to use an impact driver. you know the big solid thing you hit real hard and it makes like a quarter turn counterclockwise? i think it would work, but i need to find one first. any other ideas? i also squirted it with WD40 to help break loose rust or whatever is holding it there so tight.

I always just take a nut and weld it onto the top
then cool and remove. I also do not replace with new ones, I use a bolt with washers to space it up. Makes zero difference. |
WD40 is a lousy penetrating oil, get some Kroil.
Worse case you have to drill it out. I bought a nice set of reverse drills and easy outs at HF for $8, but persistent tapping with a cold chisel and small hammer has always worked for me. |
ok, thanks guys ill keep trying. ill try the impact wrench, ill let you know how it works, if no then ill try the chisel and hammer some more, then i will resort to the drilling. i dont have a welder but thats a good idea.
