So Cashmere is going to Germany? Bummer!! But ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
Nice to hear you found another one so fast. I would be hard pressed to find another one
(for sale) within 600 miles from me in ND. Oh well I guess I'll keep it!
Keep us posted w/ pic's as you get it running.

Hey - no frost today! The first thing my boy mentioned when we picked up the S4 this time last year was "It's got a good heater, Dad".

American-kiwii- A while back Dangler started a thread on keeping the original paint on our 928s, and you mentioned that your Cashmere is the factory spray. What did you use to bring back that show-room quality? I am about ready to start cleaning mine up and there are a few places on the body where the paint is less than stellar.

i use all types of compounds...the one i like to use most is called "microfinish" (its a pure white color polish)...sorry i dont know who makes it of hand..i get it from the dealership i work at...and the other is the 3M compounds, i think this comes in 3 grades...i usually use the fine one...(tan color polish).....i finish it off with Maguiar's Show Car Glaze #7 you may need to use the glaze a couple of time if your paint was very dryed/oxidized out...gives it a amazing wet look...also the good thing with using the Glaze...you can paint over it...no clean up needed...good for when touch ups are done
if you want the maker of the microfinish...i will need to go to the detail shop and ask.....when you use this...you only use a very small amount..wet/damp rag and just a pea size drop on it..wipe it all over the panel then machine it off...i dont do them by hand..all machine polished...you should also have a spray bottle of water...keep the paint wet...or you could/will burn the paint
what polisher i use?....i bought mine for around $30 new ,of ebay..0-3000 RPM...there a makita copy...had that machine now for over 6 yrs...still going strong..and done more cars than i can remember..lol
The cashmere car...looked like someone had tipped a bag of flour on it..it was that oxidized!..its amazing how paint can be brought back to life...the red 928 i just bought...did that too...looks like a diff car now...paint is thin in places...going to just touch them up..no full repaint...use the gas cap cover for paint matching at auto paint store

Bah - it's cold now...

I gave it a good clean today, but found the drivers seat no longer works, so I had to pull out the hand crank - oh well, something else to get to work on. At least I fixed the pop rivet that used to hold the after market mats in. And the trunk release buttons are only good for making a whirring noise.

So what happened with the cashmere car??

And next time state that the deposit is unrefundable. They will be much more likely to not make you wait.

Thanks for the tips. Mine is oxidized in a few places too. Can I pick these products up at a store, or must they be ordered off the net?
