SoCal machine shops

Since MarkA and GregB both have talked about them, I stopped by Engine Supply in Santa Ana yesterday, looked around a "little" and talked motors and 928's with them. Sounds like they have been around a fairly long time, and do work on the top two Miata's.

Good chance I will have them do my heads, just the basic valve job, since I want to take a swing the ports myself (just a gasket match).

I have a few more questions on other stuff, Calico coatings, and WPC surface treatments, but I think I bent their ears enough for one trip.

What will you use to port your heads? Dremel? Then Polish it up? Just asking since I never did one before.

Polish is for sausages, I am just going to hit it with an air grinder and port match with a tiny bit of cleanup.

In porting is it how many heads do, or are you a virgin until you hit the water jacket?
