Looking for a 928?
Now that's what i'm talking about. Gorgeous 85 Euro 5 speed. Yank the ripped factory seats out and add in some nice aftermarket racing seats and some carpet, and for probably $7ish k you'd own a REALLY nice shark. (no affiliation) Last edited by m21sniper; 08-05-2009 at 11:38 AM.. |

Just don't be a Californian and get into THIS one. He's having issues Registering it. Probably not up to California Emissions Standards.

Also BTW, no pics of the engine. Probably a Hamster Wheel under the hood.

Hey passing smog is NOT THE BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY in California so bid away and let the seller sort it out.
![]() It might cost a few thousand, but I think I could do it, would love to try on someone else's dime. Car does look nice, but not as nice as I think the buyer claims looking at both seats etc. 50/50 bet it does not sell. |

I agree with Mike. I don't think this will sell at sellers opening bid. $6K?

"Gunmeister" I think you've found a winner!
-Are you bidding on that car? Hmm. The ad says nothing about the records of the cars maintenance. Right now, it is being "hocked" for $6000, which is about $5k less than a perfect '85 S2 is worth. Records are everything! A timing belt/waterpump change is $1000. A clutch is at least $500. And that just makes the car safe to drive. What is the condition of the engine bearings? The condition of the transmission? Tires? Torque tube? How well has that cooling system been maintained? Might need a new radiator: Good luck finding one, even 928 International is lacking in radiators with a single oil cooler, and even if you find one, it might fail next month. Not to mention all the driveability issues that the typical S2, a "high strung" beast of a car, which requires constant and perfect tuning in order to not run like the average, run-of-the-mill 234 hp '84 928. Trust me, I know- I've spent the past 10 years getting my S2 to run right. Hmm, again: Smoked tail-lights. Thoughts? N! |
