ignition key positions

Ok here is a strange one.
1987 928S4
I can turn the car off... ignition off... power off to everything except radio and pull the key out. So the radio is still on. Even if I get out of the car.

But here is the strange thing. I can also turn the key to another position which turns off the radio and still pull the key out from this position. Is this typical?

first have you checked the ignition switch on the back side of where the key is inserted?
The screws might be loose.
If its tight then you may have uncovered a failing ignition switch

No thats a problem, something isn't right.

Key should only remove in the 0 position - everything off

Position 1 accessories & radio

Position 2 ignition on

Position 3 Starter

I have seen the key be able to be removed from the lock cylinder in other than off positions, either the key is worn or the lock cylinder is worn or both. Try spraying some WD 40 into the ignition cylinder not much.
Also try another key
