Brief 928 appearance in racing video

Here's a video from last weekend's fun race at Roebling. It's from a Honda driver and you can see my car for the first lap.

Most cars were Spec E30s and my 928 was out of place. I was happy they let me join in because Roebling is near the beach and we made a family vacation out of it. There was no competition for me but it was a great time. Starting from pole was a treat even if it was undeserved

Anyway, you can see my car start and then promptly get stuck in a gear change for a few seconds, that's a very annoying thing that happens when I shift too hard. By the time the front straight came up again I'm out of the video.

Yea, it was no picnic through those sweeping turns. Roebling is like a series of skidpads. My car was plowing and simply wouldn't grip at the front. That was surprising because last time ar Road Atlanta it had unlimited grip and nothing's changed since then.

I was a little nervous watching his driving, not very smooth at all. And squigly with over correction.

Glad you had fun out there though!

Yeah, that Honda would be scary to be next to. The driver that is...

I don't know what it's like to drive his car but he did OK. I don't know how the torque of the engine affects steering, he has a pretty strong engine. There is one place (turn 4) where most folks get squirly because it's easy to start braking before the car is pointed straight.
I came in early with bad noises and he got to win the race which made sense because all the other cars were closer in ability. It did suck for me but it was good to see the race win go to someone that really appreciated it and earned it.
