hello, iam wanting to buy this 1997 toyota supra. i saw it in an add online. it just seems fishy to me that it is at such a low price. she also claims that she only wants to do it through ebay, even after i told her i could drive to her location and hand her cash for it. here is the email string. the blue ones are messages i sent to her and the red is the ones she sent to me. PLEASE tell me what you guys think. i have tunnel vision right now because i want the car A LOT!::::::::::

well, iam very sorry to hear about your separation with your husband. iam sure you will find the right person, its just a matter of time. now about the car, would it be alright with you if i come and take a look at it one day? it would have to be during the weekends because iam still in school. when do you think you will be able to legitimately sell this vehicle. Also, i find it great that you would want to sell through Ebay, but if i drive to you and hand you cash, is that a method that you would consider? if you are anywhere in florida i can pay you in cash easily with only a couple of hours worth of driving. if you are to sell this car, iam the one who will buy it....i guarantee that. The car is already at the shipping company in New York because i moved here after divorce. The car is sealed and ready for the shipping.
I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them. I'm very busy with my job so this is the reason why I chose to sell my car over the internet. According with the eBay you have 5 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not.
Here is how it will work:
1. First of all I will need the following details from you:
- Full Name
- Full Shipping Address
2. After I will receive the details from you, I will forward them to eBay.
3. After they will process your info, they will send us both invoices. The invoice will send you the details on how to make a refundable payment.
4. eBay will contact me and I will ship the car to you. After you receive it you will have 5 days to test, verify and do whatever you need to the car.
If you will buy, then I will receive the payment details from eBay so that I can pick up the money.
5. If you will decide that you will not buy the car, eBay will refund the money and I will have the shipping company come pick up my car.
If you wish to make the transaction, please send me the necessary info so that we can proceed.

that sounds like a good idea, but is it possible to ship the car to your location and i just drive there and pick it up with the cash in hand? i dont really know what prices are like when it comes to shipping cars from new york to florida, but i am willing to pay the the shipping charges to ship it to your location. i just want to see the car and make sure its a real car and not just a picture or something before i give anyone any money. if you have a price on what the shipping costs are, i can add that to the total price of the car. for me, its not if the car is up to what iam looking for, it is if there is actually a car. My friend David got ripped off maybe a year ago because he was going to buy this honda accord and he sent the money through ebay to the guy in vermont who claimed he had the car but he didnt. he ended up with my friends money and David didnt have a car. After 2 1/2 months of talking to ebay and filing papers and what not, he finally got the money they guaranteed to him. so iam just a little more careful now when iam interested in anything online. anyways, i will pay for any extra costs that it takes to allow me to "touchy-feely" the car before i hand you the cash so i know its not a scam. im sorry if this upsets you. i REALLY want the car.....bad!! i promise you that if you do have the car and you allow me to see its real before the money i have saved for a long time is taken out of my hands,=2 0i will buy it. EIP if you have to ask then your instincts are telling you something.
This deal sounds too good to be true, and your going to have to move along and find another car.
If a seller wont meet with you to transfer the paper work and collect your cash you dont need to take any chances with the purchase. Not to mention that you can inspect the vehicle prior to purchase

yeah thanks for your info guys, iam not interested in the scam sale anymore. however, iam still going to f^@* with the lady (or man) and get them to not be able to answer my questions. like as in, i will fly to new york to see the car or something.

shipping (trucking) companies do not store vehicles.

serial (VIN) numbers will be fabricated or non-existent.

there will be no license plates visible in the ad pictures, or they will also be hijacked.

pictures of the car are hijacked from (anywhere).


continuous e-mails back a forth to the alleged seller will allow for other things like identity theft (yours), location of your house/children/dog/etc......has your computer been hacked now? how about your bank accounts, credit info, ad nauseum......

NEVER tell the seller where you are, even if you are using a fake name yourself.

be smart. read the ad very thoroughly first BEFORE replying or making inquiries.

if you must use eBay for your transaction, use eBay messaging only--do not give anyone your e-mail address.
