640 WHP 7 litre 928!

I just dynoed my car and here are the results.
640 HP @ 7000-7500, 501 ft/lbs torque.
I'm happy as a clam!

Thanks to Louie Ott and Todd Tremel for the inspiration to make this happen!

The engine is a docile 10.5:1 that runs on pump gas. It's a lamb. The driveability is nice, no ill manners or issues, just gobs of power. The individual throttles really tame it by preventing reversion.
The day included 20 something dyno runs to tune the Motec ECU. After this one I installed restrictors on the airbox to knock a couple of hundred HP off so it can fit into NASA's GTS5 class which is based on power as measured on a Dynojet divided by race weight. It's a good thing that I don't have to drive it unrestricted, it would have run out of gas, 12 gallons is too small, what was I thinking?
Next weekend is the next race at Road Atlanta...

OK!
It's NA.
7 litre displacement.
109mm bore, steel sleeves, nikasiled for no good reason other than I got carried away. Custom forged pistons for 10.5:1 compression.
94mm custom Moldex crank, LS7 titanium rods.
Held together with my own high quality main and head studs.
Block halves are 'shuffle pinned'.
Dry sumped.
ATI damper, my own lightweight flywheel for 7.25 dual disc racing clutches, hydraulic throwout bearing.
Heads are CNC ported by me with 40mm intake valves and stock 33mm exhaust.
The individual throttles are my design an built just for this engine.
My own custom billet cams with 12.7 lift intake and exhaust.
Motec ECU
Sequentially fired injectors and sequential Bosch COPs ignited by seperate Bosch ignitors.

Very nice Mike! Good to see you so happy with the results after all the effort and time. I followed all your threads on RL over the last few years and was wondering how your motor turned out - stunning result!

Sharp eye Abby!
For that video I removed the airbox lid and held a flashlight in one hand, camera in the other. The inlet is pretty straight and I wondered if I'd learn anything.
The holy grail video would have been seeing inside the cylinder but the valves appear as being closed. At least we now know what the injector flow looks like.
Those injectors are a fairly narrow spray pattern and they point at the valves pretty well. You can see some pooling on the walls at low rpms which implies that injector placement might be more important than I realised. Anyway, that's all I can learn from that, it was scary so it would be nice to learn something, anything

I sure wish I could come see you at the track this weekend, however I'm moving to Savannah and need to do house chores,,yeh.

Absolutely incredible work on that engine, and having seen how well the chassis is sorted, I know that thing is going to be a terror at RA.

Shoot us some video please if possible because I'd love to hear it making the hill up turn 1 and screaming into 10a.

Great stuff, Bro!
