Porsche Crest Free Car: Giving away a 1979 5 Spd JAN 1st 2010.

As a thank you to my friends- and to celebrate our first year in business, as well as just doing a good deed for some really lucky 928 fan, We will give away the red '79 5 spd I advertised on here last month. The only catch is the recipient can NOT sell the car within the first 18 months of taking posession...If this isn't agreeable, whatever makes sense works for me- I just don't want to see any drama related to the gift after the fact!

Please submit to me publicly or privately any candidate who you think may be deserving a free 928..... I'm not going to decide- WE ARE.

Sincerely,
Mason Fine

it would make a nice gift for Russell #2.

that way, I won't have to put up with a Supra in the driveway when he turns 16 in 18 months.

I have great respect for those Twin Turbo Supras boasting over 1,000 Horses. See YouTube.com and see how they are downright scary!!

I second this. One of the major contributors probably most deserve a prize like this. Then you can be sure that it is going to someone who will take care of the car. Don't forget electrical Alan too.

Personally I intend to stay away from CIS all together. I worked on some of the early Mercedes systems and just don't want the headache. Mad respect to those of you who live in the fuel distributor world.

i think everyone wants a free 928, including me, but as for the people that deserve it, i have to go with the main sources of knowledge here. its one thing to know everything, but its another thing to know everything and share it with everyone. i vote Danglerb, MPDano, MrMerlin, Normy, and the other main contributors to this forum.

Ok, So far I learned that we need to give more than 1 car a year away because there are so many valuable community fellas that deserve one.....

I will make it so...

For this particular car, we need to discuss the method of choosing the candidates.

I do like the raffle, but I don't like the money aspect, as this is a purely good effort, the money smears it.... Even though it might work (and could be possible for the fiuture) for this car, I may want a vote ....

What do you think about a vote?

Thanks - I'm really having fun with this!

I believe the raffle is the way to go! I don't see a problem with a low price raffel tickets. It's your time and your dime. I believe its fair to give a little to get alot.

just my opion, i am interested eitherway.

thanks jpc

You could do a raffle and give the proceeds to Rennwish.

If you are going to raffle, be careful to check state/interstate commerce laws regarding online raffles. As far as I know, they can be quite limiting.

Otherwise, awesome, a cool 928 for some lucky person.

I don't love the raffle idea, but I don't mind it either.... we'll figure it out. It's going to take a little while I think. I'm putting the car away tonight until Oct when I can start cleaning it up some.

However Mason wants to give a car away be a raffle or vote, NP.

I think if Mason does a raffle, Mason should choose the charity himself. Not sure if Rennwish is part of Renn or not.

If it is a raffle, not sure if he needs to fill out any legal paper work before or after, this way he is not held accountable as a business for $$ being handled within the raffle.

Hey Mason, I'd be willing to buy a few raffle tickets if you put up that blue aquarium with the shiny hood,...

Was nice to meeting you at PJ's yesterday

Just a thought,
You could take the proceeds of the raffle and put it to the shipping cost of the car.
