need help bad!! euro s4

hi all, i hope you can all help me, i have a few problems with my 1989 non cat s4, first of all my fuel pump went yesterday, no biggy. i had a new fuel pump from a older non efi 928 which looked the same a seems to be ok, but i would like to know are they the same? i think it was from a 1984 model 928.now radio stopped working today and i have yet to find the problem, but while i was looking around i found an electirc unit on the right hand side foot well, mine is right hand drive. it is up behind the dash bolted to right wall of the foot well and it is disconnected!! it looks like an ECU with a large connector. everything on my car works abs etc, but i would love to know what it is for? hope you can help.

Pumps are different, could be cruise control or an old alarm system (check for a part number).

if you can get a PN that would help as would a picture.

You should also inspect the tank outlet and see if there are wires connected to it.
If so then you have an intank pump and they have a habit of failing and then plugging the external pump.

If your ex pump is jammed you might be able to unstick it with a reverse electrical connection.
If you do have the internal pump then you should remove it and replace the small hose connection
