Question Fast Idle when Cold

Was wondering if anyone had some pointers to save me some time troubleshooting this problem. I have an 84 928s. I will start by explaining that since I bought the car around three or four months ago it has always ran rich. I replaced all eight spark plugs with bosch platinum, wires, cap and rotor. I replaced the maf gaskets. Found and corrected two vacuum leaks. Car runs high idle around 1200 but after you get it warm, shut it off and re start it it usually runs normal. I was considering the fuel relay may be stuck in start mode. I am going to swap the relay tonight. I also considered from the manual about adjusting air fuel mix. I do have a noticable miss at 60 mph and up. slower speeds, I know its there but it is less noticable. And to add to the mix, during this problem, I hollowed out the cat due to it being plugged up from running rich. It did Idle fast and miss before hollowing out the cat. Any tips? Thanks, Bill

is this a 84 Euro?? if so then it does have a MAF.
If its US car it does not.
First thing to check run the engine when its dark and look for fireflies this could be the cause of the miss. WUR may need to be opened and cleaned or replaced.
Also the O2 sensor may have gotten damaged due to the rich fuel mixture.
The O2 sensor has to have special connectors to not pinch or seal the wires so they can breath, if you installed an aftermarket sensor and soldered or crimped the wires than they are sealed, thats no good.
Also you want to check the TPS see if it clicks when the throttle is returned to idle, and you should check it electrically.
Check the temp sensor see if it in its range hot and cold
