The serious drinker has maybe Safeway Scotch, but I don't think I'm having fun unless my drink has an umbrella in it.

Jack is good at BBQ's and when you want to get a little sideways. My current beers of choice are Sam Adams, and Budlight Lime.
But lets face it, Tangueray is awesome

Mrmerlin 12-19-2009 07:38 AM

the tonic water has quinine in it, this is a poison if taken in large quantities

Makes a nice compliment to my cigars, and skoal. (Tar, nocotine, and quinine)
My alternate is Ginger Ale, not too sweet and a very pleasant mixer.

mitsy 12-19-2009 11:07 AM

Is that skoal beer

Was'nt aware US Tobacco made beer. Skoal apple or wintergreen pouches.
All of the carcinogenic goodness, no fuss. Mmmmm..... tooth loss and gum decay.

mitsy 12-19-2009 12:19 PM

If you take any of the Statin cholesterol lowering drugs, quinine even in fairly small amounts makes them 10 to 15 times stronger, and Mr. Liver don't like that. I love grapefruit, used to eat a whole one for lunch in college, now I can't touch them.

What I drink a LOT of is tea, Yorkshire Gold. ;)

Danglerb 12-19-2009 09:24 PM

As for beer, Tecate every friday with seriously HOT Mexican food. We used to joke the cafe was next to a battery shop where they got their sauce.

I also had a taste for Anchor Steam beer, drink it down a few inches and refill with Jack Daniels, let the high jinx begin.

mitsy 12-19-2009 11:26 PM

So, does grapefruit in and of itself lower cholesterol? I've been on statins before, but got off of them 'cause they made me feel like
excrement

Danglerb 12-20-2009 10:53 AM

I don't think grapefruit on its own effects cholesterol.

With Statins its like using LP gas and then adding O2, the grapefruit somehow makes the statins much much more effective. Makes me wonder why they don't lower the statin does and include the quinine.

I'm no Dr., but everything I read says too much Statins can seriously mess you up, goes after some kind nerve stuff. Google Lipitor Shuffle sometime. Statins and ALS-Like Syndrome - The People's Pharmacy®

Lpg makes less hp than petrol, takes a freaking huge and heavy tank, but I am sure it has been done. Works best with a turbo.

First LPG vehicle I ever saw was a LONG time ago, a middle 70's Toyota pickup was converted by a local college. Stock was about 125 hp, straight LPG was about 95 hp, and LPG and turbo made 145 hp.

I mention LPG since I used to do some metal brazing, and LPG alone made a nice easy to control not too hot flame that was dandy for getting things red hot, but add the oxygen and it would cut steel.

I'm not familiar with those things at all, and they could easily require connections to boxes etc that only exist on newer models.

Yep - those are the locking buttons with red LED that flashes when the alarm is active - not sure about Mitsys description though (unless they fell into the door cavity?) - shouldn't be on an older car (1989 S4 and above as far as I know).
