steel ball joint install
What's the trick to pressing the new ball joint into the steering knuckle? I borrowed a press from the parts store; basically a big C-clamp with various fittings. I have torqued it down with all of my might using a 1/2 breaker bar and have still not got the ball joint to press in. What gives?

what you need is one of these tools/kits with the "C" clamp...we use them at Toyota when doing older 1st gen' Tundra ball joint recalls..used them on the Jeep recall too, when i worked for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep...it removes and then replaces/presses the new joint back into the arm
you'll need at least a 1/2in air impact gun with about 800lb force Harbor Freight Tools
