I use some soapy water and a hook wire get one end started and use the hook wire to pull the rubber open a bit as you feed the trim into the channel, the rubber has to catch the trim tab or you have to go back a bit and work in

The window rubber holds the trim in so you need to remove the window and rubber and the put the trim on the rubber with the window the put the whole thing back in. Only should take about and hour a side.

Pro's wrap a piece of string around the window in the seal . Let the tail hang inside the car. Have someone hold the window with the seal installed on it, tightly against the opening it fits in. Go inside the car and you should be able to pull the string and it should roll the seal into the inside of the window opening as it goes around.

Thats probably confusing. I'll see if I can find an explanation online with pics.

Heres another explanation:

"To install a windshield in a rubber gasket, use heavy string lubricated
with dish soap. Place the string at the bottom of the gasket groove
and go all the way around the gasket overlapping the string by a foot or so.
Place the windshield against the gasket and slowly pull the string straight
away from the windshield. This will pull the lip of the gasket over the
windshield. After you remove all the string, the window should be in place
and no more work is needed."

And heres an explanation with pictures: http://www.fordmuscle.com/blog/installing-back-glass/112212

Here is what I did and I even have pics of the process:

Cool! See ya next Sunday Glen! Did the Quarter Glass install today as instructed. Black Silicone around the Seal, install Glass onto Seal. Thick Bead of Silicone on Body frame, tied some landscape nylon string to the inside of the seal, place glass on body and pulled the string to start the sealing process. All this while maintaining pressure on the outside part of the glass. Worked like a charm!!

Remove

Question,
What is the best way to remove the quarter windows? I have a little spot of rust starting on the bottom of the drivers side quarter window. Would like to remove and do a proper repair.

I have only seen a very few posts that someone could actually remove them with glass and seal intact. I think it's one or the other will have to be destroyed.

Remove window

Mitsy,
Thanks for the hint! I will be waiting for some better weather her in Chicago before I give it a try. I knew there had to be a way without breaking the glass out.
