Insurance

Just wondering what insurance most of you guys use. Do you use Hagerty? I got a quote of a little over $400/year.

I use USAA as I am a former Captain in the Army Reserves. Although I think they opened it up to civilians now. I have multiple cars (4), so my 6 month Premium is $112.01 This is just for Liability Only. Hope this helps.

I would think you would have comprehensive on that car. Windshield stones or deer hits, etc.

Right here in California we use Wawanessa Insurance. Their prices are much better than any of it's competition I'm not just sure if they see in Michigan Good luck.

Even Wawanesa can't beat USAA. Trust me.

+1 usaa.
I married into it though (wife's grandfather served). $112 a month for full coverage on BMW 525 and Saturn Vue, just liability and uninsured on the 928 until I get it on the road again.

AAA, 4 cars, 99 Linc Cont, 91 Must, 83 928, and 85 928, 3 drivers incl 19 year old son, about $2500 a year for full coverage with $1k deductible. This is boned in several ways;

Son still doesn't have his drivers license, but is "working" on it.
Both 928's got a total of less than 500 miles on them during the year.
AAA apparently only offers uninsured motorist coverage with comprehensive.
AAA collectible coverage slipped through my fingers as I waited for stuff to be done on them prior to switching them over.

I hate the rate, but remind myself that its not the paying for the insurance that is hard to do, its the collecting, and AAA pays.

I am looking into a few of them. USAA will not work for me. Also some will not put the car put in a corporation which I need to do. Hagerty will do this. Also most times your home owners will be a better deal. I had a bad experience with AARP home owners, real jerks. Maybe AIG should cut us all a deal since we are all bailing those %$#@% out! Insurance is the biggest scam on Earth.

Yes, it is a scam and New Jersy politions are the best at it. Highest rates in the world I think.

Travelers this year. I was with Progressive the past four years, but with NO claims and NO tickets and NO changes whatsoever....Progressive wanted to raise my rates 16% in January! What the hell?

-I didn't get a 16% raise this year.

-I didn't wreck 16% more cars, or cost them 16% more.

-I didn't drive 16% more, or own 16% more cars.

Hello? My insurance guy here in Fort Liquordale found a Travelers policy for me, and I put three cars and a boat under them. Screw Progressive! I don't mind a little bit more each year for inflation, and if I get a ticket/accident and it goes up....well, that's how it works. But to just jack up my rates 16 friggin percent for NO reason at all? I've got a number for them: they can suck all 8 of my inches!

N!

Normy, the name of your Insurance Company should have given you a clue. Progressive = Increase

I use Erie.
Land Rover Disco II, Nissan Altima and my 79 Porsche 928. FULL coverage on all 3, $15K replacement on Porsche, and Porsche is registered CLASSIC in PA, I own the registration. All 3 cars and Homeowners are on this policy, pay $2741 for ALL yearly, 228.41 monthly, not bad...

I am going with Hagerty. Got it for $481 for a year, $20,000 insured value, limited mileage of about 3,500 a year, not primary car. I can only drive it in this area for about 8 months anyway and then I have the other cars and Harley motorcycle.

Just curious are most of you insuring your 928's for $15K-$20K for agreed replacement value? I'll have to reconsider what I have mine insured for if this is the case.

I could have insured mine for more at additional cost. Next year it will be 25 years old and the premium will drop $100 and then I will increase the value to $25 or $30K. However my car is completely stock, no alterations, all original except for the radio. Hagerty wants pictures of the car and it must be garage kept before they will insure it.
