Side Mirrors?

Anyone know where these can be had? IMHO it gives it a very modern look to our car.

Just curious - did your 81 Euro come with a right side mirror? I'm asking because I'm considering adding one to my 80 Euro and was wondering if anyone had any tips on making this mod. My daughter told me that when the car cover is on it kinda looks like Nemo with the broken fin

I have both a US 82 928S and a 1981 Euro 928 - bith with two side mirrors. I was under the assumption that this was standard. Am I in error?

Yup, mine came with both mirrors. I also thought this was standard.

My GOD! This car is unbelievable. I wish I had the means to recreate it (with a proper 5 speed of course.)

Wow, I totally thought I would get the Bannlisters disapproval mentality when I posted the 2nd pic. It's why I only posted the first, but wasn't getting any answers to the question. I also love this car.

That car is f-in HOT! Holy crap!

I'm surprised it wasn't used in the movie "The Fast and the Furious", it looks perfect for the role. And for once a convertible 928 actually looks right! Randy V over at bannlist had this silly white 928 convertible for a while; my dad had a chevette that was better looking that that car! That guy was so "all about Porsche", and yet he owned a turd!

Hmm. Appropriate, I guess-

Anyway...you're right! Those mirrors are HOT. I was looking at mine today and thinking that these are really stupid. Tons of air drag, no style at all, why not just remove them. I'm serious- I don't trust mirrors at all- when I change lanes I ALWAYS look over my shoulder to see what is there, since mirrors have lied to me time and time again. So why have them at all? They look stupid, these flags sticking out of the tops of the doors. We are used to looking at them so it doesn't register to us, but a person from another planet would look at them and probably be bewildered about them. I suspect that cars from 2015 onward are just going to have tiny cameras mounted in place, and a small LCD screen mounted inside at the forward part of the side window to show what is left or right of you. Many cars already have backup cameras, basically the same thing.

These screens only need be there for old people, who typically have arthritis in the neck vertebra and don't turn their heads to check the next lane. A doctor told me about this last fact- old people don't pull out in front of you because they don't see you, they do it because they have stiff and painful necks due to degradation of their spine, so they rely on peripheral vision. If we happen to be in their blind spot, then they pull out in front of us.....

Those mirrors are hot, but the local Advance auto sells a kit to install backup cams on a car built without them. It would be real easy to pull the mirrors and simply install cams and screens on each side of the car.

N!

Believe we all are in a small unique club here as I feel the same as you all haha. Have not seen that pic before, however striving in my ever slow progress in my wide bodied 5-Speed work, I was looking for a cool aero design mirror as I did not like the normal 928 box type, just plain ugly in my books (sorry). Jacquemond in France offer several unique designs but I do not like them that well either. Am swingng towards the GTS Style Mirror kit as easily available, a great design and functionality. Porsche's 996 Carrera 2 by Jacquemond is farely close (See pic).
I do remember seeing this style somewhere, but believe a general aftermarket body kit accessory through one of the many aftermarket parts catalogs out there, will keep looking though.
