use of type of coaxcable for green wire
making a green wire, use of coax audio signal cable (microphone wire) ? ---
the housing ends on distribs wire -- number on them, could you find the plastic ends to buy? wouldnt necessarily need new ends could unsolder wire and reconnect the ends, though most the ends piece can be old. ![]() |

I think this has been done, but your right, usually it is the ends that are un-reusable. I went new and bypassed all this, since it would probably cost me more if the hacked Green Wire was the real problem and I kept buying new parts that weren't bad in the first place.

Wire is in a VERY hot location, make sure its rated for high temperature. I've been waiting for a chance to visit one of the tech swap meets with a lot of aerospace surplus stuff, but hasn't worked out for me in many months.

That TV antenna wire won't last long in that service, unfortunately.
![]() Mike, do you ever get by the TRW swapmeet in Redondo, last Saturday of the month? I often find interesting cable bits there, usually way overspec for car service, for just north of scrap prices. There are also a couple electronics surplus places on Orangethorpe west of the 57 that are convenient from 928 Int'l and Greg Brown's place. 'Orvac' or 'Marvac' names spring to mind for those.

TRW is the one I want to get over to. Chino Hills is a closer Hamfest, but MUCH smaller with less aerospace junk. Getting to Torrance before it ends at 11:30am has proved to be a challenge for me, but my level of want to go is increasing so maybe soon.
Sad to say, Marvac is gone, retired I think, and Orvac is half big weird Radio Shack, and half industrial electronic supplies, but pretty bad prices. All of the really cool surplus places I used to haunt seem to have been exorcised. ![]() |

We have a couple of those Electronic Suppliers in El Cajon. Kinda neat stuff you can find in there between the two stores.
