I final got to paint shawns car .. It was a while we had to put up the paint booth with the help from Shawn, Mark,Ed, carl, Thanks To all that help. Here are some pics.

I am going to be long blocking this out in about 2 weeks or so and then put on 3 more coats of clear. This will be a mirror finish when down. And A lot of hours in this as well.

There is an OEM paint brand, it was used extensively at the time the 928s were made, it is Glasurit, in fact on BMWs of the time there was a code as to what brand of paint was used. The paint companies have individual formulas with their tinter bases as such some formulas will match better than other brands. Glasurit also provides the variant colors too. These are the same color of the various batches of the paint the factory cooked up at the time. Glasurit is a BASF brand, their top end brand.

Its not uncommon for a company to have more than one oem supplier for parts, paint included. Porsche has used various brands over the years at the same time as oem paint not just Glasurit.

Who really cares? Do you guys only use the brand and style of tire that came stock with your 928? No, why not, it's what Porsche used so it must be the absolute best right? LOL.

My car will get FuhkenBlackStadt when i am ready to paint. Not sure if this is a Porsche only color. Thoughts?
