My latch will not release using the motor. I am wondering if there is a broken part in the mechanism that the motor drives to release the latch. All I see in there is a small metal piece that moves up and down. Should this have a roller on it? Otherwise the latch works with the key. A minor issue, but it would be nice to get working. I tried looking at a parts brake down but did not see a more detailed drawing of this part.

I'm not sure of the functionality of the mechanism. But what happens when you have an aide effect the switch, what does the mechanism do?

If no response at the latch, then try checking the voltage at the switch and at the control panel as well as the ground for the switch. You may be able to open the assembly and clean it. My rig has no switch and the latch does not seem to have a way to dis-assemble it. 928intl and probably Pelican sells the latch if it does not work.

These are a pain to get set. First try adjusting the mechanism. You can loosen the screws holding the motor mechanism and move the motor assembly so that you get more travel. If that doesn't work try shimming the part of the hatch lock that is on the hatch. Sometimes a shim on the edge moves it enough for the motor to release it. Finally you may have to replace the plastic lock catch in the hatch lock. They tend to wear and lose their sharp edge so the motor can't move it enough to release it. Not expensive around 10 bucks I think. You may have to do all of the above to get it to work. I spent the better part of an afternoon working on mine. The worst is when it works "some of the time". Upon further investigation, I noticed the top part was pretty far back. I took my allen's and went to loosen the two bottom bolts, but I found them to be lose already. I pushed the bottom part as far back as it would go towards the rear and now all seems to work just fine.
