Landseer, there's an '85 S for sale on base here right now. It's burgundy, and in nice shape. Had the TB/WP done, but I don't know when. I don't know the miles, either. Dude wants $12.5k for it.

Thanks, I guess I'm looking for the one or two owner cars similar to the one you have that have been sitting.

The last two 32V cars I brought home cost $3700. Combined.

We saw an 85 auto with 12K miles sell near me for 12,500 last summer. It was literally like new and went to a rennlister in california.
I think that's on the high side and would only appeal to a focused enthusiast.

Here's the $2000 86 being delivered home and after cleanup. Found it parked behind the Porsche dealer, getting ready for donation. Had 71K documented miles, now its over 91K. Total investment in this one was $5500 including tires and purchase price. TB/WP/rollers/tstat/hoses/distrib caps , MM/OPG, Rotors/Pads, Intake rubber, Rack & CV joint rubber. I need to charge the AC and fix some AC dampers.

Here's where it was discovered. Brick building is the dealership. This is an overflow lot. Owner had money to fix it, but was tired of it.

Looks like an ideal situation you fell into. Great find.

Nothing says "Porsche" to me like those turbo twist wheels. I really want a set.

Landseer 04-16-2010 07:24 AM

These are actually the less desireable Boxster wheels, but I know what you mean. . They were $225 on craigslist, bought from a technician in the brick dealership building above, personal deal. A fair amount of these extends past the sidewall, so always subject to curb damage. Plus, they want to topple onto their face and the get scratched on the pavement that way if you are changing them. Backs are nice and wide and will fit with a small spacer, fronts are a bit too narrow for 928.

Right now this set is on a 944 in my driveway. I sold the car for $200 with the rims, waiting for a friend to come pick it up.

I like the cup II wheels. And the real turbo twists with the right width and offsets.

gbgastowers 04-16-2010 11:25 AM

Chris, You sold the 944 for $200?( or $2000?)

Landseer 04-16-2010 12:08 PM

$200. It was a white 83 auto with a dash fire and bad seats and interior. Bent underneath. The rims were a sweetener.

Landseer 04-16-2010 12:11 PM

Here:

Auto trans is bad, I have a replacement with all the periphials that will go with it.
The recipient will make it run again, I need to focus on something else.
