Horns Revisited

I replaced both horns. One original had been defective. I went to a local auto parts store and got Fiamma horns for about $25. I used the original brackets, however be sure you make sure they clear the pop up lights! I made sure all was clear and wiring was not going to be interfering with the light operation. Now it sounds like any American car, maybe unfortunately!! But it is loud!!!

Original horns:

I tried fixing them. but they were intermittent, not worth fooling with!
Thanks to Stan for advise on horns!!

might be too late for this but check the harness under the headlight for binding and give the flex area a bit more free play , make sure the metal chassis clamp isnt cutting into the harness when the light is up.
Nice job on the horns

Stan, I was real careful, made sure all was clear on wiring and position of the new horns. I think it's OK but I know your point on this. As you know, never take anything for granted, check, double check and check again! I did operate the lights, naturally! What a car, I love this thing! A Masterpiece of engineering, I love every minute I drive it. This car handles like no other I have ever owned! People look at it and just wonder what it is! Little do they Know!!!!!

Ok, I did not see anything unusual on mine, but it could be. This car has so little mileage it may produce this symptom later. It's hard for me to realize that my car is this old, believe me, the car looks almost brand new. The paint is like pristine, the whole car is just amazing, but it has old gaskets leaking here and there to let me know!! But the paint is just factory immaculate and original, I hate to even touch it!!! As one friend said, "you have a new 1986 car". I look at it and I am still in amazement. The guy who sold it to me said he wanted "someone who appreciated the car and would take care of it", that is me!!!!!!

I think they were called "El Grandes" on the box. Got them at Advanced Auto.
