Paris-Rhine

Just installed Paris-Rhone on my 84 928 , ALL contact reground to the copper, frame, behind fuselage, battery, and battery cables, standing battery 13.26, front post the same, start car and it dips to about 13v on meter , dash guage has not changed a bit, so my dilemma is? How do I know if alt is working on car, it was given green light from reputable shop that rebuilds them I watched him test it myself! Am I missing something somewhere else?

Mine never stay in one place, they seem to vary with battery level, accessories and heat. Never as high as 14 either. Two delcos, two bosch (one is a factory rebuilt).

I do not have a way of testing the strenght of the best for tightness , so I would pinch it and turn until I felt it was tight enough, I have it tight where u can pluck it! It's pretty tight, I did not want to overtighten and have a bigger issue, I can always recheck it today, Question: what purpose does this black cover and tubing do for this alternator

It is to provide cooling air from in front of the engine to the Alt.

The belt should squeeze in 1/2 in or less is a guide.

Have you tried some very fine polishing compound on the hood / roof / hatch yet?

If its single stage original paint, it will shine to a mirror after removal of oxidation.

Some sort of maguires is what we used on ours, I think a cleaner/wax combo.
