window switch replacement

can anyone take me through the steps to replace the drivers side window switch on my 1985 928s us version 32v

disconnect the battery
remove the driver side console cover (this may also include removal of the gas pedal kick plate)
Carefully reach under the switch and push it up on one end, till it pops out.
Then follow the wire to the connector by the heater outlet disconnect .
install the new switch the same way you took things apart BUT test the new switch before putting everything back together.
a sharp awl is handy to line up the side cover screw holes

how do you remove the passenger side console cover?

lower the seat as far as it will go then remove the 2 screws that hold the console cover in place ( the carpeted part) ,
also you may have to remove the parcel tray 2 ,10mm nuts and 2, 8 mm nuts ,
then the gas pedal kick panel 3 screws

Make sure you either photograph or diagram on a pad the arrangement of the wires in the harness plug before you pull them out, otherwise it's a pia to figure out the order when you plug the new switch in.

New to this with my new '80, very cool car
I have had a number of 911's and raced vintage cars for the past 25 years

Two quick questions....
1) The passenger seat ( electric) does not go back as far as the front
Is this normal
2) I discovered a very nice set of headers after I got the car up in the air
How much HP do they add?

Vanster the seats can be positioned in different holes in the floor rails.
thus one will travel further back than the other if they are not both set in the same holes, this was done for longer/ shorter legged drivers.
The headers may add 30 HP this will also depend on the tune of the engine and the intake system employed
