The whole assembly of throttle body and the U tube back to the air meter mount on isolators, rubber cylinders with a bolt stuck on each end. Over time the rubber gets hard the bolts detach from the rubber. Time to replace them.

Hi George,

Mike is probably right but I didn't do anything with mine when I put my Spider back on. My TB is exactly as yours, just kinda goes all over the place when the Spider was out. Here's the thing though, the Spider Body has that coupler which will hold it steady. Also, the Maf holds it steady from the rear end. With both those parts holding, mine no longer moves.

Like I said, probably not the right way way but I just left mine as is and it's fine. But while your in there, you might as well get those bolt thingys that DanglerB is talking about.

George, +1 on what Mike said, time to replace the rubber bumpers that hold the assembly in place. I do it on any spider/intake refresh I do, haven't found one yet that didn't have at least one broken.

you want to replace the rubber mounts otherwise the throttle assembly can fall out while your driving and cause the engine to die,
once you have it apart you may need vice grips to grasp the metal edge of the mounting stud to remove the mount

Good deal. Although pics would make it easier for other users to follow.

How much were they? Removal/Install Procedures?

RE: throttle body

Hi Leo,

sorry i didn't take pictures, but the way i did it, i lift up the throttle body enough

to unscrew the bottom piece and take it out and put the new one the same way,

theres a total of three of them but if you replace one close to the MAF it will be

nice and tied. the isolators were $24.00 but you only need one, unless you have

removed the whole body then its easier to replace all three. Ed.
