Battery Box

I pulled out the battery and cleaned out the box. There was some slight corrosion in the bottom so I think I will spray some undercoating in it, fast drying paintable type. I was also thinking of putting a small piece of rubber roofing material in the bottom for the battery to sit on.

But unless you have a hot-post cover fitted on the positive battery-pole, you should worry about getting the battery up too high. If the positive pole touches the lid of the box, nasty things will happen or it may result in a fire

Yup, saw a post of that grounded hot post somewhere. It ended very badly.

Yes, I saw that once before in a post. Of course one could glue a rubber piece on the cover above the positive post. But I will make sure the clearance is sufficient. My battery does have recessed posts below the top case of the battery. Wonder if they also have a positive post cover available as on my Expedition. I think the proper battery does come with a protector.

U got an Expy too. Too funny, I drove mine to work today since I'm gonna Tow Dolly my newly acquired 83 928S today after work.
