Porsche Crest 1985 Porsche 928 for sale

Hello, this car has been restored. Its timeless body has a beautiful paint job, all four tires are brand new, it has a set of stylish after-market Fittipaldi Wheels (valued at $1,500). 5.0 liter V8 automatic. The interior is in good shape. A/C runs good and cold. There is one small crack on the driver's seat, and the cassette player doesn't work. The pictures don't do this car justice. The vehicle is located in Mountain Home (north central Arkansas). Asking $6,800. Come look at it for yourself; it will sell itself better than I could.

The car is for sale locally. Call or text Isaac at (870) 421 8103 with any questions!

It had a prior salvage title, but no mechanic I have taken it to has been able to spot where it was hit. Strangely, when I applied for the title, the state of Arkansas sent me back a clear title; no clue how or why. Must have been a new guy on the job; at any rate, the car currently has a clear title and looks the part.

Asking price is $6,800

Hang on and I'll go snap a few pics of the engine

Yes, back in the early 1990's, I brought a Salvage Title BMW back to California from Alabama where I did some Military Training. Re-Titled it when I got to California and they issued a Clear Title. I'm sure they closed that loophole years ago.

I like it, but your right about the mud flung on the back of the car doesn't do it justice

Color Combo is cool.

The air intake has that strip of silver tape around it because it had a small crack in it. Nothing major.

Oh, that wasn't mud lol. My dad was working on his van and using the carport so I had to park it beside the house overnight. That "mud" is actually frost.

That strip of silver tape on the air intake is just covering a small crack that was starting to form. It's not hopelessly splintered under the tape lol.

Thanks.

Hey, be aware that your car still has original fuel lines that really need to be replaced.

When was the timing belt last changed, any idea?

There is a stack of service records in the glove box, but no record of a timing belt.

What do "restored" mean?

A stack of service records and no mention of the timing belt/tensioner being replaced and serviced? Whoa!

Keep in mind this was a 70,000 car when it first came out. The previous owner must have decided to collect the insurance money rather than fix it. I assure you there is no damage.

Well, it does appear in photos like it was probably was hit on the front right, as evidenced by the right door/fender gap, the paint from the screws down the fender line and the bow in the cross brace.

Us guys here do have no hobbies, no distractions, no life --- except refurbishing 928's.

So you might want to use this board to gain knowledge to enhance its value because we buy them in that shape for about $2500 or less.

Unfortunately, what he said, +1.

Inexpensive cosmetic fixes don't enhance the value to anybody with experience with 928's.

Regardless of the clear Arkansas title, the salvage is never going off the carfax, and that kills the resale value to most Porsche buyers.

You know if you are going to take pics of a car to sell it AND you want top dollar for it, you REALLY ought to wash the exterior and make it looks as nice as possible and at the VERY LEAST vacuum the parts of the interior you want to take a picture of. It speaks WORLDS to those of us who know, love, buy and restore these cars when we see pics like yours of cars for sale. Clearly if you can't be bothered to vacuum the car and wash it before posting for sale pics you won't be bothered to do ANY maintenance on the car what-so-ever either!
