1985 928S Auto shifter removal
looking at the instructions on how to remove the dashboard, it seems to skip over how to remove the shifter on an automatic.

to remove the shifter handle push the down the bellows then remove the 2 screws on either side of the handle base, put a towel down first to catch the screws should you drop one otherwise it can fall into never never land then pull up the bellows off of the base plate push the two locking tabs to the unlock position the WSM has detailed pictures of this
