I put the Injectors first. Then put all the Hoses on the Rail, then the slipped the hoses on the Injectors. I used an old BMX Handlebar Grips technique I used back in the day. Use soapy water on the hose to injectors end. They slip right on. Just make sure you got the Clamps up one the hoses first.

Interesting.

I do it a little differently. Same outcome I'm sure.

First, holdowns and seals to injectors.

Remove rail, mount hoses to rail, injectors to hoses, tighten all.
I use a little oil or grease for lube.

(Use 5/16 30R9 --- NOT 30R6 ---hose and #14 fuel hose clamps)

Just a variation of methods.

With seals in-place, I mount the whole think at once, carefully to seat each.

On the serated metal places where the fuel hoses go.
Also on the little rubber O rings that seat in the intake.

Am usually using silicon dielectric grease to help get the bigger rubber Orings onto the top of the injectors.

Silicon might poison the Oxygen sensor so I'm keeping it out of the fuel lines, other wise I'd use it all over.

Sure.

You can buy knock-offs of them with pigtails that you splice to the harness. They are pretty inexpensive. I bought 16 of them, I think for about $35 or so on ebay. I think Danglerb turned me on to them. Looked ok, haven't used them yet. Didn't come with boots. Bought a handful of bosch boots separately and they were a few dollars each.

Or, I think from Eagle Day you can buy them (bosch junior timing terminal kit) with the terminal ends, fit the terminal ends to the clipped wires, then insert into the new body. These are more costly.

Pretty much the same plugs as 944 and other models also. Lots of suppliers should have them.

There are some special tools available to defeat the clipping system whereby the terminals are afixed into the plastic body. I need to buy them. My goal is to learn to manage these connectors better and do factory workmanship instead of rigging them. I've been harvesting them off parts cars.

There are early and later retention clips. The early ones are like squared U shape --- tricky to get on (probably there is some special tool I dont' have). The newer ones are similar, but with hooks on each end. This weekend I had one injector plug that was missing a piece on one side. By switching to the later clip the plug it retained itself on the injector!

Show a picture of what you are dealing with. If it looks like a new style clip will work I'll mail you one in an envelope.

I wouldn't buy any knockoff ones, but I did buy some of those plugs/wires at NAPA Auto for other Sensors. Not sure of the part number though.

Let me see what I can find and get back to this thread. I too have to do this to one of my Injectors.

Here you go!

Porsche 928 Forums dot com - View topic - Electrical AMP Plugs CIS, AAV, etc

I never tried them on my car, but pretty sure the plugs are the same as long as ours is 2 wires.

They just push in. The wire snaps in to lock in place.

The wired ones are easier, but I do like the stock/clean look of the AZ ones. I may experiment too. It doesn't look hard, just make sure you keep the polarity the same.

Auto Haus AZ

Not sure on the wire clip, but I would think it would only clip one way.

Send a message via Yahoo to Mrmerlin
if you look at the injector you will see a raised tab on each injector the connector also has the same relief so it will only fit one way . push the connector on till it snaps into place
NOW the injector wires dont matter how you wire them
BUT the temp 2 switch has to be wired correctly so you need to figure out what wire is what and do one at a time in fact you do this for all the wires your splicing it just takes a bit of diagnosis
