Looking for history of 9289201255

All in California, I just bought this 1979 from an ebay auction in LA. It was offerred by a REPO house and sold without history. I am in Indiana and had a friend in Costa Mesa pick it up for me. His initial report sounds not bad and I wanted to check if anyone knew, or had a way to find out, any history. I plan to fly out next month and drive or trailer it back.

Wow, all Passes, very good. Your brave to buy a undocumented 928, especially a 32 year old one and think about driving it across the Country.

Your risking it huge with your fuel lines most likely cracked and ready to burst.

Plan on trailering it home. What did you pay for it? Pics pics pics.

Thanks for info. I enjoy the early 5-spd models, and had a great experience buying a 78 last year on ebay. Price was under $3000.00.....my friend in Costa Mesa is having it checked out this week, I will ask him to send photos. Car is white, black interior. He said it runs and drives strong, even AC works! ODO dead at 56k miles, tac non function......how do you trouble shoot the tac??

hit the pod on the top with your fist,
this will usually trigger the tach to come alive,
its usually dirty connections where the wave wire is fastened to the rear of the pod housing
