928 engine swap

Hi I'm in the middle of restoration a 78 928 and have a couple of questions about the engine, and if some one know the answers please feel free to respond .
I have bought me an 4,7 Eur engine 83 with k-tronic since the old one have passed ( 4,5 us with no comp).. my old engine have new injectors and new timing belt with rollers and so on..
so is it identical parts between these engines on the timing? it is the same belt.
The 4.7 engine also have a oil leak in the front on the left side, it is difficult to locate the exact point where it is leaking, but it seems to come from the distributor, oil drops hanging from the distributor cap, maybe a o-ring there?

The Eur is a 28/12 engine 300hp whit 130k on the odometer,, it came with papers and service logg from the seller.. I will say that the engine is more like a 82 mod engine than a 83 because it have not got the changes that a 83 have( different belt and so on i think)

An easy way to tell any differences in the engine timing is to check the harmonic balancer. The Euro engine should have a timing mark at 26degrees (or therabouts) versus what your original engine has.

Other than that, almost everything from the old engine should fit right on, especially if your old engine was upgraded to HTD. Or did I misunderstand and the '83 engine is square tooth TB ?
