Winter Bed Time -

With the snow storms blowing in on to some of the roads up north, how many 928 owners have connected up their battery tender, added some "Sta-bil" to the gas tank and put their cars to bed for the winter ? This recent weather photo of the truck pile up reminded me of when we decided to take "Miss Purdy" skiing to Winter Park, Colorado a few years ago. I'm sure all the ski slope veterans and horn blowing locals felt that I should have had chains on all 4 corners. With my winter driving skills, we were probably lucky to get back to Texas without a new dent somewhere.

Not a car for snow, especially in Colorado where they put down this nasty magchloride salt which can make ice pack up in wheel wells. One time out there it packed up so bad in the wheel wells of my SUV, the tires smoked! Had to stop and chip it all out. I only drive the 928 on dry roads in winter, never use Stable, but do sometimes put on a battery maintainer.

Colorado is usually dry for long stretches of winter, although this year seems to have been exceptionally snowy thus far. I've got mine snug in the garage on a maintainer, taking care of this and that when I have time.

The Syncro is a blast in the snow. But once everything dries out, I'm driving the 928.

Well, I have driven all over your state in all seasons. I would not want to drive a 928 over Loveland or Vail passes unless completely dry. In summer it is great driving except for rocks on windshields. I drive my 928 here in winter when roads are clear of salt and snow.

as joetiger said the roads are dry here in colorado most of the time - i drive the 928 pretty much every month of the year - even if it's only for a few miles - years ago i drove a 944 in the snow a few times - absolutely useless in snow - the rear end would break loose with the slightest touch to the accelerator - can't imagine the 928 would be any better - but for now mine is snug in the garage
