Boge Front shock differences

I'm updating 1982 non adjusting front shocks (probably the originals) to later adjustable type.
Originals were Boge, replacing with Boge.(I know Koni, or Bilstein better, but it's a cost thing)
I have the adjusters,I hav'nt stripped front suspension yet, (need to leave alone for a while so I can move car around the garage.)
Questions:
Is the early type lower spring perch re-useable?
There is a difference in shock part number early 928 343 055 04
late 928 333 055 09
Do I stick with the original ? or go with the later?
Is the upper spring retainer etc the same?
What are the differences between the two?
are they interchangeable?

the upper rubber should swap over,

call 928INTL and buy used lower perches and adjuster collars and threaded rings then when you get things apart you will have all you need to make it work,
return the lower perches if they are the same

I'm not sure of your numbers but there are 2 style Boges. I reccomend the gas ones. They were a direct replacement for my non gas Boges. Not a bad shock for street use.

IIRC the only shocks available now are the gas filled Boges

I allready have the rings and collars, more interested in actual differences between early and late ones,
Same position of the ring retaining "bumps" ?
Do they have the same shaft diameter?
Diferent diameter bottom mounts?
Different pressures?
What's the difference?

Looks like the only difference here is the shock part number
(and the PRICE! comparison Porsche /OEM replacement!)

You will need to change springs as well. The earlier non-adjustable springs are taller and have an extra coil versus the adjustable type springs.

Shaft diameters are the same, but you have to have new lower perches.

Springs no problem, they were going to be replaced anyway,
Any reason for needing to replace the lower perches?Diferent spring diameter perhaps?

The Eibach spring set improved my handling and dropped the car about an inch.
IIRC the non adjustable spring perches are made to set on the shock tabs, the adjustable ones are made to set on and work with the adjuster

I see, obvious now you have pointed it out, would need more meat on the non adjust type centre to grab on., Springs when I get there will be made local, might look to machining my existing bottom perches to suit if it's possible.
Still need to know the shock difference , Anybody?

Finally found it, on a German site (in German), externally look nearly the same, big difference is what's inside.
928.343.055.04 is hydraulic- oil
928.333.055.09 is Gas
New question, gas looks like the one to go for as Porsche went from hydraulic to gas,I don't think they would go backwards.
Anyone that knows shocks got an opinion?

The shocks aren't actually gas. They are still oil but in a pressurized gas chamber. The gas helps keeping the oil form aerating under movement and thus keep the dampening more consistent.

So the gas type is a better system?
