After Marker Oil Pressure Guage 16 V US Model

Hello any perhaps Informed Vested Members :
In would like to install a after market Non Porsche Oil Pressure Gauge and was wondering a suggested Place " Oil Galley " to draw Oil Pressure from ?
I read somewhere that the Sender Port has very High Oil Pressure ?
So ? was wondering if another spot might be a better Point to get a Oil Pressure Reading ?
If only the Sender port is able to be used do I need a very high reading Oil Pressure Gauge Perhaps ?
anyone has been down this road perhaps
for a 1980 US 928 Porsche
Thanks for any Input or suggestions
and note that I understand to alter a Factory Developed Gauge may void my everything .

I don't think you need to worry about any factory warranty issues with a 30+ year old car.

Why not tap into the 2/6 bearing supply?

Here is a link to where I installed a Sandwich Plate under my Oil Filter to get the Oil Temp reading for my Temp Gauge. You could proably get a sensor to fit to the Plate and get your Pressure from there.

Mike, whats a 2/6 bearing supply?

That's a Dry sense of Humor >>ha ha Not a serious Point . If Your Serious ? .
However a 50 Year extended Porsche Factory Warranty sounds good to me ha ha .

Truth is I was just thinking that perhaps another Oil Pressure Point existed with perhaps simple access to get a Normal Oil Pressure reading .
Many Car's have High Pressure coming into the Filter from the Pump Etc but I believe many other points of Oil Pressure are in fact a lower amount >> say more in the 50 Lbs range or say 30 to 60 Lbs That's perhaps a more normal range . No doubt metered down somewhere by some port size or regulator perhaps.
That's your Oil Pressure Sensor. Also, on the Sandwich Plate, you can see 2 more blocked holes where you can add more sensors.

Top front of the oil pan is a oil LEVEL sensor, float and a switch.

I'm not a big fan of adding sensors and gauges, unless they have something important to tell me all the time.

OTOH for diagnostics I could go a little nuts with all kinds of sensors.

Oops, yes I was thinking of the Sensor next to the Oil Filter. Yes, Oil Level Sensor.

Oh BTW, your the reason I put the Oil Temp Sensor on there Mike

Aluminum is real easy to drill into, but the why and where still escapes me. What are you trying to accomplish?

I gave you an option which I believe is pretty easy. Any easier would have to be wireless, but that solution hasn't been invented yet

Drilling fo a Oil Pressure point is not a option for a " after Market Oil Pressure Gauge " for me .
Yes I understand the > "Sandwich Plate" adapter >>
was just think Perhaps a top Side Oil Pressure Point existed somewhere ? but I guess not .
So at some point I well just install a tee at the stock Pressure Sender to run a mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge . I shall leave the Drilling to Obama / Bush and the Middle East .

A "Tee?" You mean you are going to T off the electrical connection? How accurate will that be?

Lindsay racing makes an intermedate temp/pressure port for $30 that installs between the oil pressure sender & the block: that'd be cheaper, easier. Sandwich adapters can be a pain.

Well, an intermediate coupler with an 1/8" NPT on the side: extends the sender down about 1.5" to allow for the 1/8" port.

IE : you screw in the Pressure Sender back into the Brass Fitting that well screw into the block and that same fitting well have another Point / Place to screw in a pressure line to the Gauge. Some (most ) are a small Plastic line that goes to the Gauge . Some are metal .
Didn't I hear a story of someone running something like this and it burst into the Interior. Could be very interesting having Hot Oil hit you while your driving

Think of the fun you will have comparing the two oil pressure readings, watching as both needles sit on the same value at anything above idle speed.
