Question ignition coil

after exploding my old coil i bought a new one. im getting no power to it,it wasnt getting power before and still isnt now,does anyone know why and what can i check or replace so it gets the power it needs. could it be bad resister? or what? thanks all!

The lead from the ECU may have been fried. This happened to me once when my Accel coil's ballast resistor shorted to ground.

You may have some fried wiring.

OK lets back up here,
what year is the car you working on auto or 5 speed?
how do you know the coil blew up?
what did fix just prior to the coil blowing up as you say?

His coil really did explode. It's horrible looking.

He jumped the coil directly to 12v, bypassing the series resistors, and it exploded on him!

ignition coil

it was really impressive! scared the hell out of us but it did blow up...lol!
my car is an 80' us auto. no power to my coil,been like that since i got her.
can i trace the wires back? and where do they go?

start tracing at the resistors on the right fenderwell,
turn on the key see what wires have power,
Also figure out what wires are bringing power to the resistor through the 14 pin connector above the hot post ,
the connector should be opened to see if wires are shorting together,
report back. ,
