Have you gone through "all" the grounding points?

GT is 99% the same as same year S4, and 98% same as all 32v 928's, slightly different cams (close to the 85/86 cam profile), slightly different gear ratios, but otherwise pretty much the same for any driving issues.

Cutting out under harsh braking, my wild guess is that some wires are being moved and either shorting or ? Hard to even guess without more detail.

Is it possible in that the A/C guys had to work behind the main fuse box inside the car on the passesnger side (mine is a RHD) that they may have moved or crossed certin cables...what should i be looking for

well you need to start at the battery first,
make sure the connections are clean that they are tight,
and that the battery has a hold down,
the battery should not move in the well.
From there move to the hot post under the hood clean it as well as the 14 pin connector
NOTE do cleaning with battery disconnected
Next move to the CE panel
FIRST get a fuse relay chart at 928GT.com and on page 2 under tips and links print off a chart for your car.

Remove every fuse and clean the ends with an eraser then do the relays,
take a picture of the CE panel first so you can compare before and after,
any relay that has corroded pins should be opened and inspected for burning or corrosion,
this should get you pointed in the right direction

i would not overlook the ground cable, as I have learned they can look fine, but underneath the black plastic wrap they can be bad.
you can put a neg ground jumper cable from the neg terminal on the battery directly to the ground point on the body.
