what type of ATF fluid to use
 

All:

Need to top off the ATF fluid in my 1987 928 getting a bunch of differing recommendations.

So which is the correct ATF fluid to use.

Understand the wrong fluid will ruin the seals

The reservior cap says Dexron 2. I use Castrol mult vehicle. It satisfies the need for Dexron. Next time I'm going to use whatever Mercedes uses for Dexron.
DON'T put import car trans fluid in it.:cool:

Mobil 1 ATF >>> Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF that sounds good to me for a good condition Auto Trans
But if it has a bunch of miles humm not necessary
Just a Dexron type is fine and just change it once a year > only about 8 QT's

I have been using Dexrton 3/4 Its made by Valvoline its called Max life,
The same fluid is also used in the power steering
