All years. I can set you up with factory spring rates if you like: this way the ride is as loose as can be but you can still set your dampening the way you want, so you have a soft yet controlled ride.

Factory: 300/200# front & rear.

My suggestion: 400/275 for modern, semi-spirited driving,

450/300 for a few track events a year

650/450 for mostly track (as my car is).

My "race" set is on the way

Thanks Mark! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/clap.gif

No problem Chris.

My "thank you" to you for letting me take a bit of extra time on your track set was to give you a rear set of updated no-rubber upper mounts: full bearing: I'll include these on future track sets at a slight price increase.

MarkRobinson 07-03-2012 05:41 AM

Sure are, about a 1 week lead time to ship at this point. Which of the three sets are you more interested in: street, street/track, or track?

Thanks!

still interested!

i am sorry for the delayed reply. i am working with a customer who is thinking his options through.

his car is:
1986 928s automatic, he doesn't race, just wants the look/adjust-ability and a slight if any performance enhancement.

planning to fit 18"/19" wheels and lower stance. (any other info on fitting these type of wheels would be helpful)

he now wants an accurate price shipped to Olympia, WA 98506 cheap but safe shipping is fine.

no order confirmations at this time, just quote and payment options please.

much appreciated,
jay.

Hi Jay, $1300 shipped, insured via UPS ground.

The recommended "street spring" setup is great for these cars: 400lb front springs, 275 rear springs, and you can set the stiffness of the compression/rebound of the shocks: most set pretty light: the GT I'm in right now has the rear shocks on 3 (out of 12) to keep it luxurious feeling, as the customer wants. :)

Thanks, Mark

excellent price!

i will give the customer the info and a link to this thread. not sure if he will contact you or not.

i will say that that seams a better price than new OEM equivalent. and adjustable is always my preference!
thank you!
jay.

Thanks Jay, yes the description at the front of the thread is still pretty accurate. I've changed the rear lower mounts & have gone to full bearing for the race kits as well, but the street is pretty much as explained above.

Question for Mark about new coilovers

Hi Mark, do this new coilover system , will let me adjust heigh?, 84' 928S

MarkRobinson 05-17-2013 05:20 PM

Oh yes. About 4" higher or lower than stick. :)

ctapia 05-17-2013 05:58 PM

coilovers

Thanks Mark, let you when ready. I like the setup

MarkRobinson 05-17-2013 06:09 PM

Sweet. I just installed a set for a disabled guy's '85 928: best handling 928 I've ever driven: drives like a newer sport BMW :)

Wow very nice work.
If dust boots are problem at this point, aftermarket nylon wrap around/velro dust boots can be bought easy enough by the purchaser, I buy them through Motocross catalogs, they stay on and work well, designed for extreme conditions.

MarkRobinson 05-17-2013 06:50 PM

The manufacturer has a 3-way seal at the top to keep out debris: if they're not concerned about boots I won't be either. But thanks for telling me. :)
