spoiler compatability...

looking at a spoiler from an 89 928, wondering if it will fit my 1980 928. I dont want to buy this and have it arrive with out any chance of it fitting. any idea?

It will fit with some hole drilling.

I have done it. It's a PIA. That thread about covers it though. and that's on cars with no spoiler at all. If you already have the "S" spoiler on there there may be issues too.

Removing the S spoiler requires removing hatch glass and welding a dozen mounting holes, and similar work after removing the side windows and seals.

Leaving it, thus having dual rear spoilers, has some downsides in the looks department.

I also looked into this and decided, mine is not so bad after all, leave it as is.

I'm in the removal process now, trying to regain the clean pre-S look on an S.

You might also consider the spoiler off a Grand Am.
