Anyone interested in a mostly complete twinscrew supercharger system?
Several years ago, I was presented with the opportunity to purchase a mostly complete twinscrew kit. It is missing the odd-and-end components, but its mostly there. I have had the kit on the shelf for far too long, and it really deserves to be installed.
The reason I never installed it is two-fold: the first being that I have a feeling that my head gaskets really need to be replaced prior to force-feeding, and I haven't found the time to pull the engine and do all the WYIT procedures... hopefully I can take it down this winter. The second reason being hat I have been playing around with my own inverted supercharger project for several years, and have just decided that it is the direction I really want to go. I just like making things difficult for myself ![]() Before I get a ton of questions - yes, inverted supercharging does work on the 928. No - I will not be making a commercial kit. Inverting requires many compromises and alterations under the hood, including a remote thermostat and water bridge (which is made easier with a remote pump). So up for consideration is a mostly complete first-generation 928Specialists twinscrew kit for the 87-95 32v cars. The kit has been de-badged, and will not be supported by 928Specialists. Any potential purchaser of the kit would have to understand that support would come in the way of the existing supercharger threads on Rennlist, and I of course would be glad to answer any questions I can. This kit has been run before. It had extremely low mileage, installed for one season and only driven to one event, before it was upgraded to the second generation kit. The supercharger assembly has been properly stored since its removal. The kit includes:
To complete the kit, you will need the following supply/fabricate the following components:
I am sure there are some other odds and ends you will need, such as chemical products, fasteners, clamps.... etc, but this is an almost complete kit. I do have bin files, and can provide flashed chips for the LH/EZK, although I strongly suggest PEMS. The supercharger/manifold unit is assembled, and ready to install as a complete module. If there is any interest, please email me (hans14914 -at- yahoo -dot- com). This is not a standard "for sale" thread, as I would need to discuss the project a potential buyer prior to agreeing to the sale. For the simple case of following the rules, I am going to post $4500 or best offer as the asking price. Thanks, Hans Last edited by hans14914; 08-22-2011 at 11:24 AM.. |
