Vaulable parts from a S4

I bought a baked S4 minus engine. It got pretty hot that it melted the driverside door. The only thing really salvageable is everything from the fenders up, and maybe a foot of the rear. The wing burnt too.
It's a automatic, and I'm not sure those are really valuable in a unknown condition. I'm not sure I'm going to keep the auto though because I have a 5 spd.
I'll be using it mostly for spares for my 928, and since mine already has the S4 calipers maybe slap them on my 951. If anyone needs anything I will be more then happy to cut out rear quarters for cheap, or sell ya something that ain't melted, or melted for cheap!
I'm also really diggin the front bumper. My G/F says it's waaay more cuter then my S.
I agree.

I wanted to practice my Black and white!

Also If anyone wants a tub, I do have what appears to be a clean title.

Auto tranny does not like being towed like that, hope it wasn't far. Still might be good as a core.

Where was the fire, in the rear somehow?

More pictures so bones can be fully picked over.

It was far, maybe 80 miles. I bought it as a 1987 porsche. The seller didn't know anything about it, I was hoping it was a 5pd.
Anyways, The gear selector looks like it's in park, but the car rolls like it's in neutral.
prolly have another big ass paper weight.

This was a hot fire in this car to melt the aluminum doors. It looks like it started inside the interior. The front bumper will fit on an S by the way.

Interesting. But if it fit's on an S, why not the non-S. It's the same front bumper except for the duct cutouts.

yepp! the guy I bought it from said the owner was driving and he lost his cigarette. Next he noticed it caught fire.. haha
I got the wheel locks, and tried to get the doors off. 30 mins and a halligan and no luck. I'm off to work and can't spend anymore time on this one. Still working on the PM leo. Hold tight.

Will scrap yards take the car full of the burnt stuff in the inside?

Nothing if you already have an S4. but they are a brighter and (argueably) a better looking light than the ones on early cars

If you have title most will haul away the remains free, depends on metal buyers in your area, but no title and they usually have to cut it in half, and that usually has a cost.

thanks for the encouraging words.
She has a clean California title. I guess I'll call around. I think I'll get a better price on metal if it's cleaned out. But nothing a shovel can't fix at this point.. lol

Seat Motor -

Hey AZ-Porschekid, One time at a weekend rally we had a 928 driver’s seat catch fire from a stuck seat motor. It was about half way around the track so by the time the fire team reached the car most of it was toast. The worst part was that the owner had just been showing off his new custom paint and interior.

All Porsches should have a fire extinguisher. All of my cars have one. And yes, the S4 bumper cover will fit the early cars and the S models. The only thing is the original spoilers on the S usually look bad underneath where it goes up the fender in front of the wheels. So you might have to repaint an S that you put an S4 bumper cover on. It all depends on the shape of the paint under the spoiler.

Or really good insurance.

Today was a good day, found a new apple touch under the rear seats. It isn't melted, but it might have water damage.

They don't fit. The space under the marker is much longer on the early fenders than the late ones.

I noticed that when comparing the front of the S4 to my S. I think I will have to switch the fenders along with the front bumper.

If you are playing with ANY car that has had an engine fire , DO NOT TOUCH, belts or hoses that have been burnt, without gloves, A lot of them contain a flesh eating chemical that will slowly rot your, fingers, then hands, then wrists, then arms, only way to stop it is to amputate way in front of the rot.
The bad news, this is not a joke post
the good news , can take six months for symptons to show, and a couple of years before it reaches your arm.(or was that the bad news)
