Sunroof Motor Cover?

Anyone have pics of a properly fitting cover? I am trying to figure out how these things mount as I think my plastic clips are broken? Maybe some pics of it hanging on its clips or ??

I have pictures in a bit (At work .. )..

However there are (on my cover) two 'male [plastic] ' prongs that slide into metal grooves (slots) that are on the headliner. There is also a metal rod on the headliner (Rear). There is a hook on the sunroof motor cover that hooks to the metal rod.

The trick I use is.

1-Line up the prongs with the slots (pushing the headliner up towards the roof helps compress the headliner's gap).
2-Once lined up, while maintaining upward pressure on the headliner, slide the motor cover forward as you push it up. The hook on the rear should engage the metal rod and once you release the pressure the headliner will help keep the motor cover in place.

Not close enough on my to-do list to care about right now bud. I do have the cover and can send a pic but, probably like yours, the damn thing kept flipping down so I just took it off for now. PO did a poor job of taking the headliner apart so nothing fits right currently. BobG

You just have a lot of white space in your images. I cleaned it up. Great pics and this does help a lot.

Thanks for cleaning my pics up. As you can see my car is a work in progress .. Those seats and all the partially disassembled panels are a challenge, but how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time..

I was just playing with mine, and the problem I had was that the headliner which is held up with double sided tape had released. The sag in the head liner caused the cover to also sag and it looked kind of busch. I put a little silicone up on the liner, Braced the headliner tight to the roof with a 2x4 and some card board, and let it dry like that. This eliminated my sag, and caused the cover to fit flush

Thanks dcrasta! Got the motivation to do some repairs on mine and your pics helped tremendously. It help me figure out where the clips were on the roof, plus what clipped into them. One of my plastic clips on the cover was broken off. I also noticed my headliner was really sagging, I'm sure because the Sunroof was broken for so long and the PO left it in the rain. Hence why the floorboards was soaking in water when I got it. I did have to ghettofy mine but just happy it's now covering all the sunroof hardware. Thanks again!

Yeah, the cover isn't even pulled forward all the way. I may see if I can do some sort of "pull material from another location and cover those screws" ghetto cover up job.

i put those tiny like dental braces elastics, i forget-- hooked onto peg in car and on cover and it bunged itself. and the other side is a metal spaghetti rod holds other side? do you have that rod (maybe its stays attached to motor) but it clips into that loop on cover opposite your fantastic fine looking new tabs!!

brown permanent marker, or brown rusto paint, they will color screws?

Funny you mention that. I was thinking of cutting a small material off and find some brown touch up paint at the local Auto Parts Store.

Nope, doubt silicone would have held mine up. It was very warped and you had to put serious pressure to push the liner up. I actually thought the screws would get pulled through, that is how warped it was. Like I said, most likely the results of the PO and the Sunroof not closed fully.
