'79 928 Euro 5 Speed
|
Possibly moving to Houston
I don't want to count the chickens before they hatch, but high possibility I am headed to Houston (leaving NY). I was wondering if there are a group of guys in the area that I could get plugged into. I live in the middle of know where now and basically on my own.

Houston is a good location for 928's....and Dallas is just a few hours north. 3rd Coast is in Nov I think and its just a couple hours Northwest. A good time to meet everyone.

Hi Rupesy,
Hope you are able to make Houston. Houston is a pretty spread out area and there are a lot of 928s here. Lots of good people to help. Keep posting when the transfer gets closer.

You might send an email to the group to let a dozen or more of us know your are coming here, or are already here. mproseusa is one of us.....we are not as active as the Dallas and Austin groups, but our membership is growning in Houston....hope you make it here, not a bad place to live, a bit warmer than NY, but keep in mind "you don't have to shovel hot air".....we spent 10 years in NH so have soem idea of what you may face.....

Officially in Houston (for 5 weeks now). Went to the Houston Cars and Coffee a couple weeks ago and that was pretty cool.

Join the 928 Owners Club (928 Owners Club - Porsche 928 Car Club - Advocates of the Porsche 928) and we will get you plugged in to the 928 community in H'town.
3rd Coast is coming up quickly (Nov 4-6) in Marble Falls, TX. It is about 40 miles WNW of Austin and this may well be the biggest 928 event of 2011. I have been told there were only about 60 928's at Sharktoberfest (though I have a hard time believing that) and if in fact that is the case, we may well have more 928's than any other event. Hell, if Roger and I could get our complete collections to the event and bring just a few of our friends we could put the other events down! LOL! Come on out to 3rd Coast, it is a GREAT EVENT!

Rupesy, Live just down the road in Rockport. Just bought a 79 5speed project car. Will be working on it soon in Port Lavaca with Jeff (82 928). Lets set up a meet sometime soon. Will be at 3rd Coast in Marble Falls Nov 4,5,6. This is a great event. 77Tony

Thanks, this is more of a coming home for me. Well, kind of. I am actually a Damn Yankee. Previous to NY, I lived in McAllen, TX for 5-1/2 years and I went to college in Longview, TX. Texas seems to keep calling me back.
I can't make Third Coast this year, but I will plan to go next year. Too many things going on with this move to swing it. Thanks for all the tips so far.
