My door, when open, closes by it self. How do I fix it?

Hi Guys

I want to fix my doors since when I open them, they are closing by them self. I know that inside the door should be some sort of a clip that holds the door but I am not sure how to find it.

Maybe this is the part I am looking for?

If this is the part, what should I do in order to fix the door?

Thanks

That grommet looks like the piece that holds the door jamb foot thingy in place. I thought Rob Budd had something that fixes this issue. The part you need wears out in most any car eventually.

sorry thats not what you need that black part is pushed into the rocker panel/door jamb then the plastic jamb protector that has 928 on it is pressed into place..

What you need is a new door arrester it connects to just above the forward portion of the door opening (above the door wire harness).

You need to remove the door panel to put it in

you need to replace the check straps it goes at the inside of the front of the door to the" a" pillar they cost about 32 ea one per side and you need to take off the door panel to install it holds the door open in a couple positions and stops the door from opening too far

Pretty sure it's #9 in this diagram. Door Support.

Thanks for the picture!
I just sent an email to verify that it is the part I need.

No problem Yoni. I looked at my car this morning and there is nothing else there that could keep the door open. Hinges wont and neither will the wire mold.

Another option is the Jager Engineering Door Arrestor Kit, which restores the function of the original door arrestors without requiring you to remove the door panels, rip open the plastic sheeting, and reassemble everything. You can get it at Jager Engineering's Garage9 or Hooked on Cars.

Thanks Nicole, that's where I saw this. At $43, that's a great solution.
